ATM to Ethernet Backhaul Migration

We are world leaders in legacy migration solutions. With IP migration we enable end customers to retain equipment running legacy protocols, such as X.25, Leased Line and ATM.

TRANSPORT ATM TRAFFIC OVER IP/ETHERNET

MIGRATE CELL SITE ATM INTERFACES TO ETHERNET

HOW THE SOLUTION WORKS

The GW7900 or GW7950 encapsulates the ATM data in IP using PWE3 encapsulation and sends it over the Gigabit Ethernet interface to the destination Gateways.
Each ATM Virtual Path or Virtual Circuit can be routed to separate remote access lines. The destination Gateway removes the encapsulation and sends the data out over the ATM interface to the customer’s equipment. The routers convert ATM or other switching protocols to Ethernet over IP.

SOFTWARE/HARDWARE

GW7900 ATM Series Pseudowire Gateways resolves legacy conflict issues by allowing operators to maintain ATM service over a fully supported Ethernet infrastructure, thereby eliminating customer disruption.
The GW7900 has several interface options with either a dual/quad OC-3/STM-1 ATM interface or a single OC-12/STM-4 ATM interface. The GW7950 supports up to 8 E1/T1 ATM ports.
High availability can be provided through two separate Gigabit Ethernet links.

  • ATM to PWE conversion
  • ATM to Native IP conversion
  • Up to four OC-3/STM-1 SFP ports or single OC-12/STM-4 SFP port
  • 8 E1/T1 ATM Ports on the GW7950
  • Two gigabit Ethernet SFP ports
  • Supports copper or fibre Ethernet SFPs
  • Ethernet management port
  • RS232 console port
  • External telecom clock
  • Clock recovery
  • IEEE1588 support
