Overview
The Virtual Access GW1150 Series router is a compact 4G/LTE router designed for a wide range of IoT applications where footprint and cost point are key criteria.
The GW1150 Series router enables 4G/LTE connectivity for a wide range of applications including telemetry, ATM, vending machines, and remote CCTV. The product is equally at home in site locations offering 4G/LTE primary WAN failover for fixed line connections. Its small size is ideal for IoT applications such as embedded connectivity for remote machines.
The GW1150 supports the following radio access technologies: LTE, HSPA+, HSPA, UMTS, EDGE, GPRS, and GSM.
Ethernet Interface
The GW1150 Series router offers either one or two Ethernet interfaces. Where two Ethernet interfaces are included they can be configured as a single interface with Ethernet switching between them or as separate routed interfaces.
Optional Isolated Serial Interface
An RS232 or RS485 port enables direct connections to serial devices and enables remote console access. Terminal server software is included.
Optional FXS POTS Port
An optional single POTS port allows SIP signalling with RTP. Data loss must be avoided when used with analogue dial modems. The FXS port features a clock recovery circuit to avoid data loss due to clock slippage. Voice calls can also be supported.
WiFi
The GW1150 Series router has an optional single external RP SMA female connector for integrated WiFi support. It is capable of supporting both Access Point mode and Station mode concurrently if required.
GPS Receiver
The GW1150 Series router includes an optional GPS receiver that can be used for device positioning. This facility may be beneficial in asset management applications. The device’s GPS coordinates can be periodically reported to a central positioning application server.
Extended Temperature Option
Certain deployment scenarios require wide variations in power input and temperature. The GW1150 Series router offers an extended temperature range of -20°C to +70°C.
Centralised Management and Monitoring
The GW1150 Series router benefits from Activator, Virtual Access’ centralised configuration management and monitoring system. Activator simplifies and automates deployment, management and support tasks in managed network environments.
